Art around us

The aim of art is not to represent the outward appearance of things but their inward significance.

-Aristotle

Art can be found everywhere -in architecture, photography or fashion design. However, art can be most remarkably found in nature, where natural patterns, shapes, and colours can inspire creativity.

Flowers exhibit intricate designs and symmetry, such as the spirals in sunflower seeds or the radial symmetry of daisies.

Rock, canyon, and mountain formations present natural textures and shapes, like the famous patterns of erosion seen in the Grand Canyon or the vibrant colours in geological formations such as the Painted Desert.

Water's movement, whether in rivers, lakes, or oceans, creates beautiful patterns in the form of ripples, reflections, and waves. Waterfalls, in particular, can display dynamic, flowing compositions.

The skin patterns on animals—such as the spots on leopards, stripes on zebras, or the iridescent scales of fish—serve as natural works of art.

Sunrises, sunsets, and clouds provide changing palettes of colour and form, creating breathtaking scenes. Rainbows, lightning, and auroras also present nature’s dynamic artistic displays.

The arrangement of leaves, branches, and bark patterns on trees are beautiful visual compositions. In forests, light filtering through the trees and shadows on the forest floor create atmospheric art.

Seashells, coral reefs, and marine life offer delicate shapes and colour schemes that are often considered natural art.

Elements like sand dunes, the texture of bark, the surface of leaves, or the symmetry of snowflakes highlight nature’s craftsmanship in forming repetitive patterns.
